Immigration Reform

As an immigrant I believe that I have a right to comment on this issue. As an American Citizen I believe that I have a duty to comment on this issue. There is no one in this country that does not realize and accept the fact that this country was built on the backs of the immigrants to America. Immigration is necessary to the future growth and prosperity of this country. That is a fact.

Illegal immigration is a crime. It is a health issue. It is a national security issue.

I work in healthcare. We are seeing diseases and illnesses in this country that were once well controlled and even close to being eliminated. People who go through the proper process on entry into this country are required to have a health examination, and be up to date on their immunizations. I don't think that it is a lot to ask that we protect people from preventable illness by requiring people entering the country to have their immunizations up to date.
It is a crime to enter the country illegally. It is a crime to obtain and posess false documents (fake greencard). It is a crime to work without proper documentation. To say that all of these people are paying taxes is just not true. Employers bypass the IRS by paying less money to illegal workers in cash. Cash payment for work does not leave a paper trail, therefore, no taxes are being paid because there is no fear of the IRS.
If the border is so full of holes that 11 million people are here illegally, then it stands to reason that there are people here illegally who are not here to work, are not here to find a better life, and are not here to take part in the American Dream. There are really 11 millioin illegals in the country (I would tend to think that the number is much higher). What are the chances that there are 1000 "sleeper" agents in the country, or 500, or 50? 19 hijackers attacked on Sept. 11 th. How hard is it to imagine that there are that many more awaiting their orders to carry out their assigned acts of terror?

Why is it so hard for people to see the need to know who is coming and going through our borders?

This is the United States of America. We welcome all who want to take part in the American experience but we demand you do it legally, and once you are here be greatful for the opportunity you have. Learn the language. Get involved in your community. Go to school. Do all you can to better yourself, or get out.
I am getting really tired of seeing foreign flags waving in the streets. If your previous country was so wonderful, what are you doing here?? Go back if you love it that much. I hear people say that they are only here because of the opportunity to make money. I don't have a problem if that is what you are here for. That is capitalism. This country works because of it. Don't try to turn the USA into the place you came from because you are home sick. You left that country for one reason or another. If it was that great you would still be there. We and the rest of the world would be trying to go there. You're not and we're not.

This is AMERICA. Love it, Live it, or LEAVE IT.
