And So It Begins

"When I look back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all" Simon and Garfunkel, Kodachrome.

Here I am in Pittsburgh getting ready to start my masters program in 10 days. It was a long road getting here, but it will be over before I know it. That isn't really easy to say considering I haven't started yet. I expect it to be tough, but I also expect to have a lot of fun along the way.

The Anesthesia office called today to let me know about a seminar on Tuesday evening, sponsored by Baxter Healthcare. Over the years I have attended several functions sponsored by Baxter, and they always put on a first rate event.

Getting around Pittsburgh on the Harley is much easier than in the truck. I drove straight to a parking spot next to the Victoria Bldg. It was free!

I am going to work for the Vital Staffing Pool at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center(UPMC). Probably just 1 or 2 shifts per pay period, but it will be nice to know that all of our money is not headed in one direction, OUT. Today I had to go and get my 6th of 7 TB skin tests for the year. Travel nursing does have one or 2 draw backs. I also had to pee in a cup again (for the 4th time this year). I will be working in the thoracic, trauma, and surgical ICU's. It should be fun. No really.

Home Again Home Again.........

We are off and running in Pittsburgh, PA.
It has taken us 2 weeks to move and get set up and sorted out in Pittsburgh. Just in time actually. Adam has school in less than a week, and my classes start on the 29th. Susan should take her NAPLEX test some time soon, and we will look into buying a house.
Pittsburgh seems like a nice place so far. The first week we were here there was a shooting every night.
Did you know that more people are murdered each month in Detroit than soldiers are killed each month in Iraq?
Today in Thursday. The local Harley Club meets every Thursday at Quaker Steak, it is a restraunt only a mile from where we live. Last week when I drove by (In the SUV) there were more tha 250 bikes in the parking lot. I just got back from my last moving trip to Reno on Tuesday morning. I now have my bike in town, so tonight I am going.
Thursday night is also B-Ball night at church.
