Upward and Onward. Life as a CRNA

Being a newly naturalized citizen of the United States, it is with pride and honor that I watched the presidential inauguration today. I voted for Pres. Bush. I also voted for the party he represents.
In Canada I voted for a party and was stuck with whomever the party elected as it's leader. In Canada a person can conceivably become Prime Minister for life. Call an election whenever they want so as to best place themselves and their party in a position to win.
It is like insider trading.
The government knows bad news is about break, so they call an election before it hits the fan, and then take the next 1 to 5 years to ride it out, hoping for another opportunity to call a quick election and do it all over again.
There is something wrong with a system like that.
There are a lot of great things about my former country, but I am glad to be living in the USA!

Hello Again

After a lengthy pause from the blog I think I will give it another go. We are still in Reno (At least for a few more months).
Last month I made a mad dash to Pittsburgh to interview for anesthesia school. They called me on a tuesday asking why I hadn't responded to their request that I come interview the following friday. I told them that I never recieved the letter, but that I would be there. The process was interesting, and went well. They offered me a spot in their August class. I have two other applications out and hope to also interview in Ohio and Florida.
Dale Jackson and his family moved to Reno recently. It has been nice to have them in the area. People who don't mind if you sit on their floor are hard to come by.
It's still cold and the snow is still deep here in Reno. Why did I move to the Desert??
